ARE YOU SHOWING UP PREPARED AND READY TO SUCCEED?
How well do you think you’d do if you showed up for a tennis match without your racket? Would you every play soccer without shin guards? What about swim without your goggles? Ever show up for a class final without your scantron and number 2 pencil? Would you go on a trip without packing your underwear or toothbrush? Well, you get the point.
There are certain things that you are responsible for bringing or responsible for doing in order to set yourself up to do well; to perform at your best; to succeed. It’s no different when it comes to workouts.
If you’re coming straight from work, do you have your workout clothes? How about the right shoes? If it’s been a while since your last meal, did you have a snack? Have you had enough to drink throughout the day? Do you have tape or hand grips for WODs that call for a high volume of pull-ups? If you like using them, what about gloves? If we’ll be doing deadlifts, olympic lifting, or rope climbs, do you have long socks? Sweat like a mutha? Then PLEASE don’t forget to bring a towel and a sweatband or bandana to clean up after yourself. If a fairly long run is on schedule and you like listening to your tunes, do you have your iPod? Which by the way, you don’t really need.
So what other tools do you think you need to bring to the box to help you improve and perform to succeed? Give this some thought. And then get your CrossFit Gear Bag together so you’ll be ready for anything.
